Let me preface this by saying I'm fairly new to counting and haven't had much time on the felt but have been studying like mad and hope to join the ranks of the great AP players on this site.
Anyway, my area offers Spanish 21 as well as blackjack and I have learned BS for both and have got my Hi-Lo count down pretty good. I am now at the point where I want to memorize index plays and just realized maybe their is a better way mentally for me to do this.
I have read most of Katarina Walker's book regarding SP21 and her use of beginning the running count at -24 for a 6 deck shoe etc.. Is Spanish 21 BS essentially the right plays to make at a -4 TC for a blackjack game? I understand the rule differences will make some things different but is it a good rule of thumb that will simplify things for my index learning? What I mean to say is would learning what to do in blackjack at TC -3 the same as SP21 -3 and by the time the TC in a SP21 game gets to zero start playing blackjack BS?
